Submission Email Address
I started submitting to many web directories and noticed that a very high percentage of the replies that returned were from email addresses that did not match the domain name of the directory. The directories were using gmail.com or other domains other than their own.
I decided to follow suite and started using my own “foreign” email address. I figured that it had something to do with people using these email addresses separate from their own; this way the didn’t have to deal with spam and advertising mail in their own mail.
I found that this has helped me too in that my Gmail account has a nice categorising system where I can use categories like “pending”, “accepted”, “accounts” and “other”.
